Beginner Horse Riding Camps!

JUNE 1 - JUNE 4

This camp is open to anyone! This is a perfect camp for any beginner rider - even if you have never been on a horse. We will focus on walk and trot skills and activities. We will incorporate some games and fun water activities. The learning time will focus on the Red learning level from Horse Sense Learning Levels.

Meet Kristina!

From a very early age, Instructor and Owner, Kristina Descalzo has been around and involved with horses of various breeds and disciplines. She has been taking lessons and continuously improving her own techniques for over 25 years. Kristina has been consistently teaching riders of all ages in both private and group settings since 2005.

Her passion for youth and her hunger for knowledge make her the ideal trainer for riders of all ages, abilities, and walks of life.

Jumping Camp

May 26 - May 28
Jumping courses, grids, and games. Pre-requisite: able to trot a XR and canter confidently. We will work on the Green Level learning from Horse Sense Learning Levels. Don't forget about the Snacks and TShirts!

This camp is perfect for those who are ready for cantering! This is a fun camp for any rider who wants more cantering skills and games. The learning time will focus on the Red & Yellow learning level from Horse Sense Learning Levels.

Just For Fun

June 15 - June 18

This camp is open to anyone but focused on younger riders! This is a perfect camp for any younger or nervous rider - even if you have never been on a horse. We will focus on walk skills and activities. We will incorporate some games and fun water activities. The learning time will focus on crafts and games. We will have extra helpers with this camp to ensure everyone has the attention they need.

June 22 - June 25
This camp is all about games! This is a fun camp for any rider who wants to play games - both mounted and un-mounted. The un-mounted time will focus on games, scavenger hunts, and other fun activities.

Not ready for a full camp week? Weekly lessons run year-round — private or small group, ages 6 and up. Beginner-friendly, parent-welcome, no horse of your own required.

Meet The Horses

Indy

Hi, I'm Indy! Kristina has known me longer than most people in her life — I'm a 28-year-old Morgan, and I've been hers since I was two. I love being the center of attention and grooming is my happy place! You can brush me, braid my mane, ask me a hundred questions, and I'll just stand there happily soaking it up. In the arena, I'll trot all day if you ask. I promise I'll take good care of you on your first ride.
Tiki

Hi, I'm Tiki! I'm a 25-year-old pony from the Owyhee reservation, and I've been just about everything in my life — trail pony, jumper, cross country runner, and (rumor has it) a cart pony too. Now I teach kids to walk, trot, and canter, and I love every minute of it. I'll be honest — I still love to gallop. When my best friend Angel and I are turned out together, we run as fast as our legs will go. But when it's your turn to ride me, I'll take care of you. Grooming and grazing around the property are my favorite ways to spend a quiet afternoon.
Nick

Hi, I'm Nick! I'm an Oldenburg warmblood and a retired Hunter/Jumper champion. These days I'm passing on what I know to kids and adults learning to canter and jump. I won't lie, I will never go any faster than I absolutely have to. But ask me nicely, and I'll give you the smoothest, most rolling canter you've ever sat on. I'm on lease from my owner in Eagle, and I love my new job teaching new riders.
Angel

Hi, I'm Angel! I'm a black and white mare, and Kristina affectionately calls me the fire-breathing dragon when I get spicy. I love to run with my head and tail held high, snorting like only a dragon can. But underneath all that drama, I'm a softie — I love being groomed, doing groundwork, and most of all, when kids ride me and make me look beautiful. My best friend is Tiki — when we're turned out together, we run as fast as we can, just because we can.

Hi, I'm Dash! I'm a Morgan-Quarter Horse cross, and I belong to Harper. I love going fast, I love jumping, and I love being out with my friends. If you're up for a little adventure, I'll show you what I've got.
Louie

Hi, I'm Louie! I'm a Percheron-Thoroughbred cross, and Sara is my person. I'm a big sweetheart who likes to take life at a slow pace — but don't let that fool you. Sara uses me for jumping and all-around riding, and I'll show up when she asks.
Penny

Hi, I'm Penny! I'm an Appendix Quarter Horse, and I belong to Ellie. I'll be straight with you — I'm the queen bee around here. A diva, fully. I require my fly mask with a cover so the sun doesn't ruin my nose, and Ellie wouldn't have it any other way. We jump together, we show together, and we make it look good.
